Synopsis:

Beyond my normal tightening up of the editing/pacing & giving the film a more consistent tone, I've also removed as much of the 'Haunted House' element as possible, making it easier to tie this one into the continuity of the rest of the series.

Intentions:

This project aims to bring stronger continuity, tighter editing & improved pacing to 6 of the films in the Nightmare on Elm Street movie series.

Change List:

Opening Titles- -added the Fanedit.org logo. -added my fanedit production logo. -added music over New Line production logo & director credit. (Prologue) -new "A Jack Shoulder Film" credit. -added a quote by Friedrich Neitzsche. Title Sequence- -new title logo. -new title. (The Nightmare's Revenge) -new title sequence music. (Fire Bird [raymix] ) -added a white-flash transition into the opening scene. On the Bus- -removed all opening credits by cutting shots. -cut the bus stopping to drop kids off; It's just Jesse & the two girls from the start. Morning at Home- -added "Monday, July 18th 1983" text to the shot of Jesse sitting up in bed. -longer shot of Jesse grinning at his dad's "smart ass" remark. -removed Jesse's sister showing him her fake fingers. Baseball at School- -reversed the shot of the ball in the air so it seems to be flying away instead of falling forward. -cut & shuffled many shots to remove Jesse getting hit on the head with the ball. In Class- -removed the entire classroom scene. In Jesse's Room- -replaced the music coming from Jesse's radio. (Devil In My Car by the B-52s) -replaced sound effects as Jesse cleans his room & dances around. (drawers, boxes, finger snaps, bed) -cut Jesse popping the cork-gun. -added music as Jesse & Lisa put things away. (Dreaming of Me by Depeche Mode) -cut Lisa mentioning that the diary is five years old. -added a music cue as Jesse reads Nancy's description of Freddy. (Prologue) At School- -cut Jesse & Ron running around the track. At Home- -removed the parakeet scene. -cut the lightning coming in through the window. The Jesse & Coach Dream- -cut coach Schnieder investigating a sound in the gym. -Jesse turns into Freddy in the steam much faster. At Breakfast- -cut Jesse mentioning that it took five years to sell the house. -cut Jesse mentioning that Nancy's mother died in the living room. -cut the toaster catching on fire. Jesse Asleep- -cut Jesse going into his sisters room. In Ron's Room- -cut several shots so that Freddy coming out of Jesse is faster & more intense. -cut away after Jesse smashes the mirror. At Lisa's House- -cut Jesse mentioning that Freddy tried to get him to kill his sister. -cut Lisa telling Jesse "You created him." -cut Freddy biting Lisa's leg. -cut Lisa's delayed reaction to stabbing Freddy. -cut a shot of guys approaching the smashed door. -removed the reply of "Search me." after the kid asks "Is everything ok?" At the Power Plant- -cut Lisa bandaging her bitten leg. -cut the dogs. -cut Lisa hallucinating ants on her leg bite. -cut the cat & mouse. -cut several shots of the boiler room that are used in my edit of TDW. -cut some shots to make Freddy's meltdown faster & more intense. -augmented the music as Lisa embraces Jesse with the track Prologue. On the Bus- -removed the 'On the Bus' scene. End Credits- -stabilized the gate weave during the credits. Post Credits- -added a shot of the basement. -reversed the video & audio. -added the "Freddy's Coming for You" rhyme. -added my production logo to the end. -added music over my production logo. (Prologue).

Additional Notes:

I tried to stay true to Bob Brady & Arline Garson editing style from the original film. I didn't want anything to seem changed or altered at all. This mostly meant sharp, quick cutting & trying to keep the energy high.
