Synopsis:

It is 1941, and the world is in the throes of war. Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) wants to do his part and join America's armed forces, but the military rejects him because of his small stature. Finally, Steve gets his chance when he is accepted into an experimental program that turns him into a supersoldier called Captain America. Joining forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Captain America leads the fight against the Nazi-backed HYDRA organization.

Intentions:

I created this edit specifically for chronological MCU marathons. This War Years Edition removes the 2011 prologue and epilogue, keeping the entire movie in the WWII era. To see the 2011 scenes, check out my companion edit, Marvel One-Shot: A Man Out Of Time.

Change List:

Used Bobson Dugnutt's Star Spangled Edition as a base The following two changes from Bobson's cut are relevant to mine: Added the Howling Commandos in the Battle of Azzano, with an Uber Tank being unleashed on the field Added Stark talking about the impossibilities of the Hydra Grenade and Cap getting his medal from the ceremony he skipped. My changes: Cut all material set in 2012. Opened with Tesseract SFX slowed to 10% over studio title cards. Added subtitles to the opening scene (They were missing from the Star Spangled Edition). Changed the fade cut ending the Bucky/Hydra deleted scene from white to blue to better represent the Tesseract weaponry. Adjusted the color grading on the Cap's Medal deleted scene. Brightened and lightly recolored the shot of Bucky falling to make it look a bit more realistic. Changed the end card from “Captain America will return in The Avengers” to “Captain America will return”. Removed the post-credit scene. Added a post-credit scene teasing the One-Shot (I recommend you skip it. I only added it because Endgame should be the only MCU film without a credit scene). I also took some artistic liberty and removed all dialogue, making the scene purely atmospheric. EDIT: It has two awkward cuts I can’t believe I missed! @^#&#!$#*! Added end title cards for myself and Bobson Dugnutt.

Additional Notes:

Chronological marathons are pretty jarring, especially with Captain Marvel thrown into the mix.
