Synopsis:

This edit takes the final two seasons and rearranges them to make the Night King and his army be the climax as it should have been. Tons of cuts and edits were made to try to save the characters from the awful writing and to keep their original arcs intact. My main fixes were to: - Remove the rushed Mad Daenerys arc - Retain Jaime's character - Give the Night King some substance - Give Bran things to actually do - Make Arya and Sansa not appear to be so stupid - Remove the dumbing down of Tyrion and endless ball jokes - Remove or tone down fast travel - Remove all fakeout deaths, especially in the battle for Winterfell And tons and tons of other small changes.

Intentions:

Game of Thrones had one of the most disappointing finales I've ever seen. The story, the characters, the pacing, they got everything wrong. I wanted to be able to rewatch one of my favorite shows, but so much of it is meaningless with the original ending. While this edit isn't the Game of Thrones finale we deserve, I hope it satisfies anyone who wants to be able to rewatch the show without having such a disappointing end.

Change List:

- Moved the Night King attack on Winterfell to the end, pushing the attack on King's Landing earlier - Rearranged many, many scenes to make this main rearrangement work as well as to cut down on fast travel wherever I could - Removed Dany going mad and burning everyone in King's Landing - Jon and his army, and Arya and the Hound are never at King's Landing, and its destruction does not happen - None of her army attacks the unarmed guards and civilians after they lay down their weapons - Cersei no longer just sits around drinking wine and doing nothing. Her storyline is much better paced - A lot less Euron. No finger in the bum! - Euron does not shoot a dragon out of the sky and Dany does not forget about his fleet - Cersei and Euron both die by dragonfire in the attack on King's Landing, rather than their original deaths - Had to basically remove Varys and Littlefinger from the plotline sadly... - Removed Arya and Sansa fighting and then tricking Littlefinger. He stays alive in this edit - Took out all the dumb ball jokes from Tyrion - Removed Arya finding her wolf again randomly - Theon regaining his crew because he doesn't have a dick is removed. He now gets them back by willpower - Removed the hunt for a wight beyond the Wall plotline. Repurposed it without that wight staying alive - Bran now communicates with Jon via visions to have him go after the Night King beyond the Wall - Everything that happens with the Night King now goes one after another very quickly - The Night King lures Dany up to get her dragon - The two episodes before the Battle for Winterfell are combined and removed a lot things like Arya sexing up Gendry - Sansa is no longer fighting with Dany for no reason - Removed all fakeout deaths at the Battle for Winterfell - Less main characters on the frontline - Rearranged the battle into two episodes to appear longer and for pacing - Bran is revealed to be a part of the Night King. That's how the Night King can control the dead, using Bran's warging powers - The Night King kills Arya and Bran warges into her body to deliver the final blow - Removed basically everything that originally happened at the end. No Bran becoming king. No hitler Dany. No Jon killing Dany - A lot more main character deaths to make the Night King feel like he was an actual threat - New funeral scene with other characters' deaths added, and the unused song "Stay a Thousand Years" added - Jon doesn't kill Dany. He now calls on the dragon to destroy the throne - Ends with a montage of characters still alive, Sansa being crowned, and then Jon going beyond the Wall with Dany - There are tons and tons of other minor changes to scenes for pacing, or to remove plotlines they are referring to because of the reordering, or to remove characters from scenes that shouldn't be there, or to make small fixes for things I didn't like.

Additional Notes:

I focused first and foremost on rearranging the seasons so that the Night King attack happens at the end. Then I tried to remove all character assassinations such as Jaime not caring about the innocent, Daenerys going mad all of a sudden, Jon reduced to only saying "she's muh queen". Then I worked at fixing smaller things like fast travel, fakeout deaths, and lots of poor character choices.
