Synopsis:

Changes in v2.0: Warning screen added to the beginning of the film. Updated intro sequence with “WW” shield instead of “HP” shield. Two audio tracks are now available in the video file, a 5.1 surround sound and a 2.0 stereo track. Dark color tinting removed. ---- The fourth film in my set of Harry Potter extended editions. Certain deleted scenes have been incorporated that were not added back to the TV versions, or scenes created from other content to allow for the inclusion of a deleted scene. For HBP, all deleted scenes that have been released with the Blu-Rays have been reincorporated into the original movie.

Intentions:

The intent of this project was to create a complete set of Harry Potter extended editions that mimic the versions seen on ABC Family/FreeForm, but are not exact duplicates. Certain deleted scenes have been incorporated that were not added back to the TV versions, or scenes created from other content to allow for the inclusion of a deleted scene.

Change List:

- Added in extended Harry/Hermione scene in the hallway before walking up to Ron/Lavender. - Added Harry/Hermione scene in the Common Room where Harry thinks Draco is leaving the castle after disappearing from the map - Added Harry/Ron/Hermione scene discussing the vanishing cabinets before Harry meets Dumbledore. - Added Harry/Dumbledore scene in the cave where Dumbledore mentions the 2 kids that Riddle brought to the cave. - Added scene as Harry/Dumbledore leave the cave. - Added choir scene leading up to the confrontation in the tower. Some clips were altered/reordered to make the scene flow better. - Added scene of Harry in his bedroom, then coming downstairs to the Common Room after Dumbledore's death. - Added extended scene at the end of the movie with Harry/Ron/Hermione at the Astronomy Tower.

Additional Notes:

Half-Blood Prince has always been one of those odd movies for me, primarily because it is one of my favorite books and I feel like it could have been so much more in movie form. I wish more deleted scenes were available to add to the story. For this particular edit, I used all of the available deleted scenes and reinserted them back into the film. Scenes were color corrected to match the scenes they were blending with. My favorite scene that was edited was the choir scene leading up to the astronomy tower event. I reordered the footage from what is in the original deleted scene and what was shown on ABC Family/FreeForm. I feel like the order is a more natural one, building to Draco leaving his bed and going to the Room of Requirement. The final scene on the Astronomy Tower was also fun to work on, having to modify the music to flow with the scene already in place. I hope everyone enjoys this edit as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
