Synopsis:

This edit follows Laurie and touches upon the other characters only insofar as they affect Laurie.

Intentions:

I wanted to create an edit about Laurie.

Change List:

I wanted to create an edit that followed Laurie, so we could follow the story from her perspective. I cut all non-Laurie scenes except two: Rorschach right after Jon teleports him off the base (to avoid a jump cut) and Dan visiting Hollis and learning Dr. Manhattan lost it on live TV (both to fill in a story gap and because Laurie is mentioned). I also created a Laurie-centric opening title sequence and new closing credits and added Devo songs, which is a nod to Laurie's interest in Devo in the graphic novel.

Additional Notes:

- created new opening credits; added new theme song - cut most non-Laurie material - repeated shot of Laurie looking out the window to set up flashback scene - added new music to alley fight (foreshadowing!) - mixed audio where needed - created new closing credits; added song.

Other Sources:

For the opening credits, I used an Amazon-purchased MP3 of "Gut Feeling" / "(Slap Your Mammy)" by Devo. For the alley fight, I used "Edward Blake - The Comedian" by Tyler Bates from "Watchmen: Original Motion Picture Score". For the closing credits, I used an Amazon-purchased MP3 of "Beautiful World" by Devo. For the trailer, I used "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Lorde from the "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack". Various video excerpts come from the "Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter" North American DVD. For the DVD Menu, I used "Silk Spectre" by Tyler Bates from "Watchmen: Original Motion Picture Score".

Special Thanks:

That One Guy for the cover, disc, and banner art.
