Synopsis:

The Beatles have been rehearsing for three weeks throughout January 1969 to develop a live album, and to stage a perfomance for a television special or film. They have not held a concert or perfromed live since August 1966. The group have decided to mount an impromtu concert on the rooftop of their building, without permits and without permission from the city of London. This live performance was filmed with 9 angles for the 1970 Let It Be film, and later shown in it's entirely in the 2021 mini-series Get Back, intercut with man-on-the-street interviews, or police dialogue. This edit shows the performance as it's own concert film, without the intercutting dialogue, bringing the direct focus to The Beatles, and their last public performance.

Intentions:

While I loved the whole Get Back mini-series, I also loved the idea of watching the final concert on it's own as a mini film, without the interviews and the cops talking.

Change List:

- added 16mm film grain over the whole thing, as the footage restoration was over-processed and very waxy, this helps make it look a little more natural and 60s - added new intro text introducing the performance - added title card - added new date card "30th January, 1969" - trimmed film crew getting read - cut "Get Back" false start (original cut took part of a later take and showed it right at the start) - cut all man-on-the-street interviews - reframed multi-cam shots to remove the interviews - cut all police dialogue - reframed multi-cam shots to remove cops talking and their subtitles - removed one random shot of Linda McCartney that's added to the Beatles ending the set (made the album mix out of sync, and is half a second for some reason) - added title card at the end - added new credits sequence.
