Synopsis: Order of the Phoenix is actually one of my favorite HP movies, alongside Prisoner of Azkaban. The movie is fast-paced, often intense, and it has big stakes for our characters. I think the movie’s biggest flaw is its feeling of complete dissonence from the rest of the series, feeling much less like a Harry Potter movie and much more like a drama/thriller piece. Therefore, my biggest priority has been to establish a greater connection between this and the rest of the series - including remastered versions (by myself) for Voldemort’s Theme, A Window to the Past, Hogwart’s Theme, Neville’s (upcoming DH) theme, Gilderoy Lockhart’s Theme (now more of a Dark Arts Class theme), Quidditch Theme and more. The movie has also been color graded to remove the heavy reliance on blue, as well inclusion of two deleted scenes, removal of Filch as an idiot and a lot of new SFX and even new scenes.

Synopsis: The Goblet of Fire needs a much more cohesive tone to follow along with the rest, as the tone of the fourth movie is in many ways quite different from the rest of the series - not just in score and pacing, but in visual style and tone. I also noticed how Goblet of Fire Director, Mike Newell, tried to get back in some of all the warm, golden, cozy colors of Columbus' entries, and when listening in on the Commentary Track I found it odd how these choices came into play. Prisoner of Azkaban had a silver/brown color palette to it that looked very lived-in and real, and then suddenly Mike Newell decided to throw all of that away - despite all the critical acclaim for the visual style of the Prisoner of Azkaban, because he always liked the warm tone of the Columbus' movies, yet he continued with the visual presentation (Hogwarts tracking shots and movie style editing) created by Alfonso in PoA. The entire movie is tonally and stylistically confusing, and that was the most important thing for me to fix - along with franchise continuity.

I completely love what they have made, but there are many scenes of poor acting, or bad character choices that are completely fixable. My main goals overall: - Create light edits that don't try to reimagine or create anything new, but rather just enhance the original movies - Remove small annoyances and some poor performances (Harry shushing Ron, Barty Crouch Jr tongue flicks, dumbing down Hagrid, etc) - Retain as much world building as possible (Clock in the Weasley's home, monster roar at housekeeping in PoA, etc) - Keep the original music to their own movies, except for a few rare occasions - Tighten up action wherever I could Goals for Half-Blood Prince: - Incorporate most of the deleted scenes - Try to establish Harry and Ginny's connection better - Cut out as much bad acting, dialog and writing as I could.
