Synopsis:

I've made extensive alterations in order to summon my ideal version. Extensive changes have been made to strengthen continuity, remove filler & improve pacing.

Intentions:

My intention was to create a tighter version, using the best of the Unrated & Theatrical cuts.

IN THE CABIN- -cut Mia smelling something right away. -cut the shot looking up from the cellar. -cut David saying "Somebody probably just broke in to bump uglies." -cut David's cat-scare. IN THE CELLAR- -cut the flash-back to the girl burning. -cut the voice saying "Naturom Demonto" from the original EVIL DEAD. IN THE WOODS- -cut a shot of Mia after Evil Mia says her name. -cut a shot of Evil Mia. -extended the zoom-out shot on Evil Mia. -cut a shot of Mia. -cut the vines coming out of Evil Mia's mouth. -cut the vines going into Mia. BACK AT THE CABIN- -cut Eric mentioning that "things are getting worse by the second." MIA, POSSESSED- -cut a shot of David falling back as he gets shot. -removed Cheryl's dialog from the original EVIL DEAD. -cut a shot of Mia's mouth. -shortened the zoom-in on David. -shortened the zoom-in on Mia. -cut Eric saying "I don't think a sedative is gonna do shit." OLIVIA, POSSESSED- -cut Olivia pissing herself. -shortened the shot from under the bed as Eric walks past. -smoothed an audio jump-cut when we cut from the bathroom to the work shed. PATCHING ERIC'S WOUNDS- -added a sound for the lights being turned on. -cut David telling Natalie to "Go" a second time. MIA TRICKS NATALIE- -cut Natalie going to the door before hearing Mia in the cellar. -re-timed Natalie's "Mia?" -shortened a shot of Mia as Natalie falls through the stairs. -cut Mia slowly crawling toward Natalie after pulling her into the cellar. -cut Mia licking Natalie's knee. -added rumble when the hammer hits the final nail. -cut Eric walking in. -additional thunder sound as we cut to the next scene. ERIC & THE BOOK- -cut a quick shot of a page in the book. -additional rumble as Eric points out the "Evil Entity." -augmented the score with part of the track Three Ways of Saving Her Soul. -removed Scotty saying "Kill her" from the original EVIL DEAD. -cut Eric saying "What kind of virus makes you cut off your own face?" NATALIE'S HAND- -added a shot of Natalie at the kitchen sink. -additional sound effects as Natalie's hand goes bad. -re-arranged some shots as Natalie sees Mia watching from the cellar. -additional rumble when Natalie sees Mia. -cut Natalie saying "Give me back my hand." -cut a shot of Mia watching. WHAT TO DO- -cut Scotty's "We're gonna bury her" from the original EVIL DEAD. -cut Prof. Knowby's "Bodily Dismemberment" from the original EVIL DEAD. -cut the Old Woman's dialog from the beginning. -cut David's story about he & Mia's mother. -extended the shot of David after he says "Maybe she's just lost her mind." -extended the shot of David after he says "Maybe we've all gone crazy." -cut Eric laughing & telling David that he's a coward. NATALIE, POSSESSED- -cut a quick shot of Mia as Natalie attacks David with the crowbar. -cut Erik laughing as David holds Natalie. -added a thunder sound as we transition into the next scene. WHAT MUST BE DONE- -cut Eric's "I just don't wanna be the Devil's bitch." -removed David saying "This time the only way is the hard way." -faster transition from David digging the grave to opening the cellar door. -shortened the shot before David opens the door to the well room. -shortened a shot of Eric drooling after he dies. -shortened a shot of Eric's body floating in the water. -added rumble when we see that Mia's eyes have opened. -added rumble as David falls to his knees after burying Mia. -cut a shot of Mia watching the cabin burn. FINAL SHOWDOWN- -cut a shot of The Entity approaching the Jeep. -shortened a shot of Mia watching The Entity approach. -additional sound when Mia drops the chainsaw. END CREDITS- -cut the mid-credits scene. -new music over the main credits: Demon Possession (extended). -freeze-frame & fade-out on the Tri-Star logo. POST-CREDITS- -cut the Bruce Campbell cameo. -added the mid-credits scene. -cue from the track Demon Possession concludes as Mia drops. -shortened the shot of Mia on the road before the truck pulls up. -shortened the shot of Mia on the road as the driver gets out of the truck. -removed the jump-scare sound when Mia opens her eyes. --a piece from the track The Pendant plays instead. -added a shot of the cabin. -extended the shot of the cabin. -added demonic sounds from the original EVIL DEAD. -added my production logo. -added the voice saying "Join us" from the original EVIL DEAD.

Additional Notes:

I've tried to stay true to the editing style set by Bryan Shaw in the original cut. My editing is extensive, but I didn't want any obvious changes.
