Synopsis:

This is a collection docs, one for each film, edited together from various sources. These make the perfect companion to the Evil Dead [raymix] Series.

Intentions:

I wanted to make documentaries that work as a companions to my Evil Dead [raymix] series.

Change List:

I've made so many alterations & additions that it would be a nightmare to list every change. This list only covers a fraction of the changes. Mostly just things I remembered to note. MAKING THE EVIL DEAD- OVERALL CHANGES- -upscaled the DVD sources from 404p to 1080p. -recreated all titles, names, captions & credits for consistency. PRODUCTION CREDITS- -added the fanedit.org logo. -added my fanedit production logo. -re-created the Anchor Bay Presents card in the usual [raymix] font. OPENING- -cut Eli Roth throwing shade at other horror films. -cut Edgar Wright's comments about Sam torturing Bruce. TITLE CARD- -added a remixed cue from the track Attack of the Vines. -new title & title card. (One By One We Will Take You- Making The Evil Dead) -added an audio outtake of Ellen Sandweiss running out of laughter. BACK IN THE LATE 70's- -added an image of young Rob, Sam & Bruce. -longer beat before Rob Tapert begins the story. -cut Tom Sullivan mentioning the money for the auditorium going to student activities. -added film reel sound effects during the talk of Sam showing his Super8 movies. -added a clip from ATTACK OF THE HELPING HAND as Tom Sullivan talks about it. -fixed Rob stuttering on the word "America." -added I'm Your Boogieman as Joe Bob talks about horror in the 70's. SAM RAIMI -cut David Goodman telling a tale of torturing baby Sam. -added a clip of Ellen Sandweiss & Bruce Campbell talking about making short films. -smoothed Rob Tapert stumbling over some words. CASTING- -cut Ellen Sandweiss giving out Theresa Tilly's real name. -smoothed an odd cut before talking about Rich Demanincor. BRUCE CAMPBELL- -cut Ellen talking about women & men having crushes on Bruce. PRODUCTION- -added a cue from the track Skin over the title card. -smoothed David Goodman stumbling over some words about the window. -cut some of David Goodman talking about hunters walking up onto the property. -cut Theresa mentioning being in the Bible Belt. -cut Josh Becker talking about the budget. -smoothed Greg Nicotero stumbling over some words. -added a clip of Bruce Campbell being interviewed by Conan O'Brien. --added FX, a TV for the clip to play on & cabin interior background. -added a clip of Ellen & Bruce talking about the long shoot. -added a picture of Ellen in full make-up & wearing her glasses. -added clips of Theresa, Ellen, Bruce & Betsy talking about injuries. -added a shot of the crew using the fogger as Bruce talks about it. -added an outtake of Ellen running through the woods & falling. -added Bruce telling a story about an infection on his leg. -cut some of Josh Becker talking about the script. -added a clip of Bruce talking about budget & shooting schedule. -cut Greg Nicotero throwing shade at the low budget effects. -cut Eli Roth talking about his own movies. -cut some comments about censorship attitudes in the late 70's. -cut some of Betsy explaining what the beams were supposed to be used for. -cut Rob recounting some unsavory comments from Sam. -smoothed Rob stumbling over some words about the contact lenses. -cut Ellen talking about her doubts about the effects. -cut Theresa talking about the reputation these kinds of films had at the time. FIRST IMPRESSIONS- -added a cue from the track Panic to the title card. -smoothed Rob stumbling over some words about the theater. -added clips of Theresa, Ellen, Bruce & Betsy talking about the premiere. A SECOND LIFE- -added a Horror sticker to the video tape on the title card. -added a shot of the poster with the Stephen King quote as Greg talks about it. -smoothed Edgar Wrights' comment about gore being censored in films. -cut Edgar Wright throwing shade at other "Video Nasties." -cut Eli Roth's theory of why EVIL DEAD 2 was made to be more funny. -cut Eli Roth joking that he's "gone to jail for other things." FAVORITE SCENES- -added a shot of the set as Theresa talks about the crew falling asleep. -added a film reel sound effect. -cut the discussion of the tree attack scene. -smoothed Greg Nicotero stumbling over some words. -added a 2nd look at the stop-motion art on Linda's leg. INFLUENCE- -cut Rob saying he doesn't think the film was influential an any particular filmmakers. -cut Eli Roth talking about his own films. LEGACY- -added a cue from the track Kandarian Dagger over the title card. -cut Betsy talking about re-uniting with Ellen & Theresa. -cut Ellen talking about adjusting her attitude towards the film. -smoothed Rob stumbling over some words. -cut Tom saying he'd love to see Sam come back to do "Evil Dead 4." END CREDITS- -completely re-made the end credits in the style of the new titles. -added The Charleston from the end of THE EVIL DEAD. -cut the intercutting interview segments. POST-CREDITS- -added a clip of David Goodman talking about being fired by Sam Raimi. -added my production logo to the end. (Things That Were & Shall Be Again- Making Evil Dead II Dead By Dawn) -added audio from EVIL DEAD II as the title is revealed. -added footage from EVIL DEAD II behind the title. -added a cue from the track Behemoth. ANCIENT HISTORY- -added an Ancient History title card. -cut Josh Becker talking about the production of CRIME WAVE. -extended the picture of young Rob, Sam & Bruce. -cut Scott Spiegel talking about production problems on CRIME WAVE. -smoothed Josh Becker stumbling over some words. -cut Josh mentioning that Sam didn't really want to do EVIL DEAD II. -cut Josh Becker talking about his unused EVIL DEAD II script. -cut David Goodman talking about Stephen King. -extended the picture of Dino De Laurentiis. -added an I.D. card for Dino. -cut Bruce talking about having talks with other studios. PRE-PRODUCTION- -added a Pre-Production title card. -smoothed Scott stumbling over some words. -cut some of Scott talking about ATTACK OF THE HELPING HAND. -cut some of Bruce talking abort how easily distracted Sam & Scott could be. -cut some of the dilemma about the flashback to the first film. -fixed a few frames where there's no background behind Scott Spiegel. -cut some of Scott Spiegel talking about wanting to take the story out of the cabin. THE CAST- -added a The Cast title card. -cut Greg Nicotero theorizing that Bruce stole Sam's highschool girlfriend. -cut Sarah & Bruce talking about having their young kids on set. -added an additional shot of Bruce's stunt double, John Casino. -re-arranged some of Sarah Berry's comments for clarity. -extended a shot of Richard, Kassie & Sarah. SAM RAIMI- -moved this section from much later. -added a Sam Raimi title card. -cut some of Kassie talking about Sam. -cut some of Shannon talking about Sam's love of the Three Stooges. -cut some of David Goodman talking about Sam & Bruce. -added a section about Sam firing most of the original crew. -added a clip of Sam & Greg goofing around. -added a cue from the track Dancing Game. END CREDITS- -completely re-made the end credits in the style of the other new titles. POST-CREDITS- -added an outtake of Bruce with the fake Linda arms. -added my production logo. MAKING ARMY OF DARKNESS- OVERALL CHANGES- -recreated all titles, names, captions & credits for consistency.
