Synopsis:

The ghosts of a deceased couple are annoyed by an unbearable family that has moved into their home, and hire a sketchy bio-exorcist to drive them out. In this cut, as soon as Barbara and Adam Maitland (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) die, they will not be heard again until the very end of the movie. The story revolves more around this haunted house and all its weird inhabitants.

Intentions:

The idea of removing lines of dialogue from the Maitlands came by accident. I muted the center channel to see if I could replace it with a dubbed stereo version of the movie from an older DVD, while retaining the surround quality of the Blu-ray. I found that the Maitlands were quite interesting to look at while not talking.

Additional Notes:

Favorite moment: when the Maitlands meet Beetlejuice in the model. That was super fun to edit. Hardest cut: Gina Davis is so good, her character so subtle. I'm sorry I had to remove so much of her great work.
