Synopsis:

I've made extensive alterations in order to create my ideal version. Extensive changes have been made to strengthen continuity, remove filler & improve pacing.

Intentions:

My intention was to create a tighter version, employing extensive alterations. I tried to stay true to the original style set by Patrick Lussier. My editing is extensive, but I didn't want any obvious changes.

Change List:

PRODUCTION CREDITS- -added the fanedit.org logo. -added my fanedit production logo. -added a "A Wes Craven Film" credit. TITLE CARD- -moved the title card to after the opening scene. CASEY GETS A CALL- -removed the gunshots & screaming sound effects as the scene begins. -longer beat between "but the rest sucked" / "So, you got a boyfriend?" -cut the awkward "Again" from "Turn on the patio lights. Again." -added the deleted shot of Steve's guts spilling out. (upscale by KidJupiter92) --adjusted the color, contrast & saturation to better match the 4K footage. --added the door frame to the sides of the shot. --added Casey's reflection in the window. -cut a shot of Casey looking at Steve. -moved a shot of Steve to after Casey sinks to the floor. --added the door frame to the sides of the shot. --added Casey's reflection in the window. -replaced a shot of the early Ghostface mask with a shot of the main mask. NEW TITLE CARD- -added the slash effect from SCREAM 2. -new title logo matches visual continuity with the rest of the series. -added a cue from the track Sid's House as the title lands. -added Soho's cover of Birds Fly. SIDNEY & BILLY- -fade-in on Sidney doing her homework. -adjusted the EQ, volume & reverb on Birds Fly to sound diegetic. -removed the glass-breaking sound when Sid hears something outside. SCHOOL INTERROGATION- -cut Principal Arthur touching Sidney's face. -Arthur's "They wanna ask a few questions" is over a shot of Sheriff Burke. AFTER SCHOOL HANGOUT- -shortened the shot of Billy before he smacks Stu. SIDNEY GETS A CALL- -added rumble after "you'll die just like your mother." PRINCIPAL ARTHUR EXPELS THE PRANKSTERS- -cut the final shot of Arthur quickly turning away from the boys. TROUBLE IN THE RESTROOM- -cut Sidney getting up & looking around before crouching down again. -cut a POV shot looking under the toilet stall doors. -cut a close-up of Sid as she searches under the stalls. -added rumble as the Ghostface cloak comes down to the boots. TROUBLE IN THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE- -cut Principal Arthur wearing the mask. -different shot of Arthur opening the door into the hallway. -cut Fred the Janitor. -added a shot of an empty school hallway from the pilot episode of TWIN PEAKS. --adjusted the framing, color & contrast to better match the SCREAM footage. --scrubbed, re-grained & stabilized by The Scribbling Man. SID CHATS WITH TATUM- -cut the zoom-in on the bushes & Ghostface popping out. AT THE VIDEO STORE- -cut Billy repeating "Millennium" again after "That's good." -shortened the shot after Billy lets go of Randy's nose. AT THE SUPERMARKET- -cut the reflection of Ghostface in the freezer door. TROUBLE IN THE GARAGE- -switched some shots of Tatum crawling through the pet door for continuity. -cut some frames of the fake Tatum head before it's smashed. AT THE PARTY- -the track Drop Dead Gorgeous concludes as we cut back inside. --adjusted the EQ & added reverb so it sounds diegetic. WATCHING SCARY MOVIES- -cut the kid saying "The blood's too red!" (there's no blood in that scene) GOING MAD- -cut "The stuff they used for pig blood in Carrie." (it's used for blood in everything) -added Ghostface's "Surprise Sidney" from SCREAM 2 as Stu reveals the voice changer. --altered the cadence to match Stu's delivery. -cut Stu saying "It was fun!" -cut Billy screaming "WHY?!" -cut Stu saying "Yeah, we did her a favor. Let's face it, she was no Sharron Stone." -cut Stu stammering "H-Hu-Huston" before "We have a problem here." -extended the shot of Stu pointing to where the gun was. -Stu's "We have a problem here" is heard over a shot of Billy. -cut Randy's clunky "I never thought I'd be so happy to be a virgin." AFTERMATH- -adjusted the color & contrast so it seems like it's earlier in the morning. -Gale's dialog fades-out as the camera pans away. -added additional police siren & radio chatter sounds. END CREDITS- -new music: Drop Dead Gorgeous by Republica & Trouble In Woodsboro. -added the title card before the credits. -added a zoom-in sound as the title zooms-in. -added the cue Sid's House as the title lands. -added rumble as the title lands. -added the slash effect from SCREAM 2. -added a slash sound effect. -added the cue Billy Sting during the Ghostface flashes. -Wes Craven's credit lingers a little longer. -slashed through the credits for Bob & Harvey Wienstein. --added sound effects for the slashes. -cut the pictured cast credits. -cut the Scream title appearing in the middle of the credits. -cut the Dimension Films logo appearing in the middle of the credits. -added a "CAST (in order of appearance)" title to match the other films. -cut the credits for songs I've removed from the film. -new Ghostface Mask credit. -removed the petty "No Thanks Whatsoever to the Santa Rosa School District." POST-CREDITS- -the track Trouble In Woodsboro continues. -added the slash effect from SCREAM 2. -added my production logo.
