Synopsis:

I've made extensive alterations in order to create my ideal version. Extensive changes have been made to strengthen continuity, remove filler & improve pacing.


Intentions:

My intention was to create a tighter version, employing extensive alterations.



Change List:

-added the fanedit.org logo. -added my fanedit production logo. -re-scored the Dimension Films logo with the track Logo. (S1) -added a "A Wes Craven Film" credit. GOING TO THE MOVIES- -added rumble as the first shot appears. -the track Logo fades out. -removed the track She's Always in My Hair by D'Angelo. -re-scored the scene with the track Opening. -new background sounds. (talking, walking, traffic, ect.) -cut "$7.50" from "Nobody wanna pay $7.50 to see some Sandra Bullock shit." WATCHING STAB- -shortened a shot of the usher after the Ghostface dummies swing overhead. -extended the shot of the Gale Weathers credit before it fades out. -shortened the shot of Maureen & Phil taking their seats. -cut Phil's response when Maureen asks what nudity has to do with the plot. -cut Maureen yelling at the screen & the theater telling her to "SHHH!" -cut Casey (in the movie) saying "I don't like games. Who is this?" -cut the "Gimme some money" conversation. -cut Phil muttering "Cheap ass" as he hands Maureen some cash. -shortened the shot of Maureen re-entering the theater. -shortened a shot of Maureen going back to her seat. IN THE RESTROOM- -shortened Phil watching the two guys at the urinals. DEATH IN THE THEATER- -after Maureen collapses, rumble builds into the title card. TITLE CARD- -new title card. -added rumble as the title zooms-in. -added the cue Billy Sting as the title lands. (S1) -added blade sounds as the title glows. -added the cue Sid's House as the 2 lands. (S1) -re-scored with a different part of Your Lucky Day In Hell by Eels. -added rumble as the title fades-out. SIDNEY AT COLLEGE- -new music continues & is edited to score the scene. -fade-in on the trees. -new outside sound effects: breeze, birds, bicycle. -new inside sound effects: phone ringing, items clattering, phone lifting. -added a beep as Sidney answers the phone. -new music fades out. FILM CLASS DEBATE- -cut the student defending ALIENS & Randy getting the line wrong. -cut the conversation after Cici says Mickey has a "hard-on for Cameron." -added reactions from the teacher & Cici after Randy leaves. (cut earlier) ABOUT LAST NIGHT- -cut Randy speaking in an English accent. CAMPUS PRESS CONFERENCE- -cut Randy saying Gale got calf implants. -cut one of Gale's calls for Chief Hartley's attention. DEWEY & GALE- -cut Dewey saying Gale has "a cold storage where her heart should be." -cut Gale saying sorry a 2nd time. -remixed the music. -cut Dewey saying he has "some 'oozing' to do." CICI AT THE SORORITY HOUSE- -cut Cici's friend on the phone making scary sounds & laughing. -cut a shot of Cici walking back across the porch. REPORTERS ON THE SCENE- -cut Dewey telling Gale to "hurry before it all gets scooped." -cut Joel saying he's not cut out for this kind of work. POST-PARTY PHONE CALL- -cut Sid starting to leave before going back & answering the phone. -added new sound effects when Sid picks up the phone. -augmented the music as Sid answers the phone with the track Sidney Attacked. INTERROGATIONS- -changed "The 90's is no time to play hero" to "This is no time to play hero." -cut Dewey's "Nothing" before "It's just a shame he got away so easily." SIDNEY & DEREK TALK- -cut Sid saying "This is serious" after "I'm serious." REPORTERS & GALE- -cut Debbie's rationale for the killer being from Woodsboro. -audio from the STAB interview fades in at the end of the scene. SINGIN' IN THE CAFETERIA- -cut this entire embarrassing scene. DEWY TALKS WITH RANDY- -cut some the scene from STAB on TV. -removed some of the audio from STAB in the background. -cut a shot of Dewey. --replaced it with a shot from STAB playing on TV. -re-timed Randy's "Mm-hm." -shortened a shot of Dewey after Randy says "she's bad for your teeth." -cut Dewey saying "A killer?" after "Gale?" -shortened a shot of Randy after he asks "Why not?" -shortened a shot of Dewey before he says "Well, she is vicious." -cut Randy calling himself "the unrequited love-slave of Sidney Prescott." -added a shot of Dewey, cut earlier. JOEL TALKS WITH GALE- -cut this entire scene. SIDNEY TALKS WITH GUS- -music from the end of the Dewey & Randy scene continues. -longer beat between "Gus" & "I just don't think I can do it." -corrected the sync on Sid's "I just don't think I can do it." -cut the "I'm a fighter" pep talk. -removed "honestly" from Gus' "As an artist, you can honestly face it." -re-timed Gus' "As an artist, you can face it." -cut "You're good." / "There's no understudy. I'm desperate." ORESTEIA REHERSAL- -cut a shot of two guys pulling their masks off. -cut a shot of another guy pulling his mask off. GALE, DEWEY, RANDY & JOEL- -cut Joel saying "See if I can find some crack, Special K, X; not Malcom." -altered Joel's "Coffee, doughnuts, prozac" to have longer beats between words. -cut Dewey calling Gale a "Phonehead." -added an additional phone ring before Randy answers it. -cut Dewey asking "Who?" & Randy responding "The killer." -cut Gale grabbing a girl's cell phone. -removed the girl saying "Is she crazy?" in the background. -cut Gale & Dewey wondering where Randy is before going to look. IN THE LIBRARY- -removed the dated & fake computer message sounds. --replaced them with proper 1990's messenger alert sounds. -removed the guard saying "Get away. It's probably just a sick joke." COTTON CONFRONTS SIDNEY- -smoother transition between shots as Cotton puts his hand on Sid's face. INTERROGATING COTTON- -cut Chief Hartley saying "We're dealing with 4 murders. Watch your mouth." -cut Hallie saying "It's ok to break" & Sid's "It's not gonna happen." -cut Cotton saying "Is there a problem with the word 'innocent'?" -cut a shot of Sid & Co. listening from outside the room. -cut Cotton saying "Gale, you were so instrumental in my freedom." -shortened the shot of Gale watching Cotton walk away. -cut Cotton stopping to give Sid his card as he's taken outside. REPORTERS OUTSIDE THE POLICE STATION- -cut Debbie stopping Gale as she leaves. GALE TALKS TO DEWEY- -cut Gale saying "I feel really bad." -re-timed Dewey's "Is this just another Gale Weathers performance?" -cut a shot of Dewey walking toward Gale. -cut a shot of Gale watching Dewey approach. -cut Gale saying "It's definitely worth a look." -cut the pair gathering the camera & bags together. AT THE FILM BUILDING- -shortened the wide shot of the film building. -shortened the closer shot of the film building. -cut the duo not being able to get into some rooms. -cut Dewey's "cold storage" comment on the video, matching the earlier scene. FRESHMAN HAZING- -cut the fraternity brother saying "Prepare to die." --instead he simply points & says "You." -cut the fratboy saying the hazing is because Derek gave his letters away. -new dialog: "Freshman hazing! Woo! It's your turn, Derek! Haha!" courtesy of Lupin. -cut the sorority sisters saying "It's so romantic." / "And so Greek!" -cut some of the frat boys' taunts. DRIVING SID TO SAFTEY- -shortened & reversed a shot of Sid to match the previous shot. -shortened a shot of the security guards waiting for the light to change. -cut guard 2 saying "If we told ya, we'd have ta kill ya." -cut a quick shot of Sid looking like she's just said something. ATTACK AT THE STOPLIGHT- -moved a shot of guard 2 looking scared to after guard 1's throat is cut. AFTER CRASH- -cut Hailley asking if guard 2 is dead & Sid's "I think so." -cut Sid considering removing the mask before deciding not too. -cut Hailley saying "Don't do that again." -cut Hailley trying the door again after Sid says she has to to climb out. FINAL SHOWDOWN- -cut Mickey saying "Nice twist, huh?" after "Billy's. Mother." -cut a shot of Sid & Gale. -cut "& a lot of work" from Sid's "This is 60 lbs. & a lot of work later." -cut Mickey explaining the website he met Debbie on. -cut Debbie explaining the percentage of finding the right person. -cut Debbie saying Mickey was "On his way up" when she found him. -cut Mickey's "Wait till the trial. It's gonna rock!" -cut Debbie saying "There's not gonna be any trial." -cut a shot of Sid & Gale. -extended a shot of Mickey. -added & reversed a shot of Debbie, cut earlier. -shortened the shot of Debbie's hand reaching for Mickey's gun. -cut Debbie saying her motive "Isn't as 90's as Mickey's." -shortened a shot of Sid. -shot switches from Sid to Debbie as Sid says "You're as crazy as your son was." -cut Debbie saying "Randy talked bad about Billy & I got a little knife happy." -cut Sid waving the panels to make the thunder sounds. -shortened a shot of Debbie searching for Sid. -shortened a shot of Sid flipping switches to activate silly stage effects. -added additional sound effects when Sid kicks Debbie off of her. -Debbie's "Personally, I think it's rather poetic" is heard over a shot of Cotton. -extended a shot of Cotton. -cut a shot of Debbie & Sid. -cut Sid having to promise TV interviews to get Cotton to save her life. -added additional sound effects when Mickey falls into the bricks. (police radio chatter & siren) -cut the pan-away shot as the camera passes behind the tree branches. -cut the credits beginning over the pan-away from Sidney. END CREDITS- -the track Do You Feel Loved continues, followed by Gale's Theme. -added rumble as the title zooms in. -added the new title card. -added the cue Billy Sting as the title lands. (S1) -added the cue Sid's House as the 2 lands. (S1) -added the slash effect from the beginning. -added a slash sound. -added the Ghostface flash-frames from mid-credits. -added the cue Billy Sting to the Ghostface flash-frames. (S1) -recreated production credits to match the other films. (someone left Caps Lock on) -slashed through the credits for Bob & Harvey Wienstein. --added sound effects for the slashes. -cut the pictured cast credits. -cut the title card in the middle of the credits. -cut the Dimension films logo in the middle of the credits. -cut the credits for songs I've removed from the film. -added a credit for Do You Feel Loved by U2. -new credit for the Ghostface mask. POST-CREDITS- -added the slash effect from the beginning. -added my production logo.


Additional Notes:

I tried to stay true to the original style set by Patrick Lussier. My editing is extensive, but I didn't want any obvious changes.
