Intentions:
The movie as broadcast was padded out with 25 minutes of clips from the first four Hercules movies, which just get in the way of the actual story. It's bad enough watching the movie in isolation, but if you've just seen its predecessors, the clips are especially unwelcome. Without them, there's still plenty left to make a good Hercules episode.

Extended and Regular versions: movie opening titles and closing music replaced with season one versions. First farm scenes and Minotaur teaser moved to pre-titles. Runaway lovers scene moved to subsequent night. All clips from previous movies removed, along with some surrounding material that introduces or reacts to the clips. Regular version: a few scenes removed entirely, and a lot of small cuts from throughout the episode.
