Synopsis:

This version of Contact is slightly shorter than the theatrical release and differs in that instead of two attempts to use "the machine" there are three attempts so there is more going on. Contact: Special Edition is aimed at the fans of Contact who are interested in a slightly different spin on this intellectual tale, and question "what if?".

Intentions:

I really enjoy the theatrical version of Contact every time I watch it. I have listened to a lot of feedback however, that it is too slow paced, and the end was unsatisfying. Personally, I do not agree, but have come up with an idea to make a slightly different version of how the events play out in Contact.

Change List:

The biggest change in Contact: Special Edition is there are now three attempts to use the machine, and the different outcomes that result when: 1. The scientists rush into using "the machine" 2. The world and media circus influence how it is used 3. The government controls its use The journey into space has been edited, and the ending has also been trimmed to make it more satisfying. PLEASE NOTE: If you love Contact the way it is, then please do not watch this version. If you thought Contact was ultra boring, then still do not watch this version as I'm sure you will still be disappointed. But, if you thought contact was kinda cool in its nerdy way and are open to slight variations then perhaps you might be interested in Contact: Special Edition. :)
