v1.3 Review Amazing. They removed all the fluff that was out of character. Reorganised the series to make sense and the ending was amazingly well cut together. My only complaint is when Osha puts on the helm it feels like it should be a flashback and it’s jarring that it isn’t.

Review:
The Corcoran Cut is pretty Great! Sol w00p w00p! Okay, so I like this series as is. Sure, there are things I'd change, but it was overall a great story. This is the second of 3 FanEdits for this I've got, and it's a really great premise. For this he decided to focus on Sol's story which was a great path to take. I liked it better than the Chronological cut and equally as much as another one I saw. I recommend watching the original show before seeing an edit, but once you have, this cut is perfect for sleeker rewatches. The only thing I saw that might be able to be improved was the color. It just seemed a bit faded compared to the original. I don't know if the editor did color grading or maybe it's something else. The audio was good but had a few areas where it was clipping. It wasn't enough to ruin it, just minor. Also it would be perfect with subtitles. Good work, Corcoran! I look forward to all of your future projects!

Review:
A New Hope for the Acolyte Okay, this was my first time watching the Acolyte period, and I must say this was fantastic. I had seen the reviews on youtube and know most of the controversies but had not sat down and watched it in full yet, and honestly was ready for this to be terrible even after all the editing and was very pleasantly surprised. First I will start with cons: The movie is very long, but shorter then LOTR extended. I’m not sure the story would work if it was not this long and the edit keeps the pace going at a very quick pace. Just a lot to tell. Now for a TON of Pros: Made the power of one, the power of two, the power of many scene feel like star wars: the clone wars in live action. Didn’t think that was savable from what I had seen of it but it totally worked Implied nudity was heavily adjusted, and no longer there for the sake of being there. Qimir seemed to do what he did not to show off sexually but to show he was truly disarmed and show the audience his back. Qimir seemed like a surprise, my family who knew nothing about the show was shocked. Can’t say I felt that way even in watching the youtube reviews. His introduction was simple and his reveal worked very well as you don’t spend weeks and hours of watching where it becomes easy to put together. Jedi Deaths off screen brings a much higher level of mystery and make the deaths so much more meaningful. Having the one Jedi found being dead by poison and no lead up was amazing, and you felt like you where learning what was going on with Osha and Sol. It also made the Wookie Jedi death happening off screen make total sense. Making Sol the main character was perfect! It worked so well with the actors performance and gave character depth to both Sol and Osha. Everyone else was a little shallow but that is fine when they are supporting characters. Osha killing Sol made sense, her world was flipped and she reacted in rage and the cut makes it very clear that she was going in to be the hero and when confronted by part of the truth that was held from her she attacked the man that she blamed for that. It also made it very clear that Osha does not and will not have the full story making her easy to manipulate and make fall to the dark side. Seeing Qimir manipulate her paints him as the bad guy and Sol as the victim. Many criticized the show saying it made the Jedi look evil, and this did not feel that way, this made it look like good people made wrong choices with right intensions and that in any organization there will always be people using their power incorrectly. With the witches we see it with the 2nd mother, in the jedi we see it with the Green Jedi who is trying to cover up her own padawan failing all while Sol is truly trying to do what is right for Osha. Mae flip flopping made sense (I’m sure in the original most would be like “didn’t she just say in the last episode she was going to turn her self in? And now she is trying to kill Sol again?”) where as in this one she says I’m turning myself in, then realizes there is no way she can out run her master and watches him kill a full group of Jedi single handed, is told by the master he will kill her, meets up with her sister she thought was dead this whole time, and then sees the opportunity to kill the man she thinks caused all of this for happening in the first place. Its messy but life is messy and this feels a lot more logical and the way this was cut I didn’t feel it was much of stretch at all Sol figures out it is not Osha with him almost right away, yeah makes total sense he is a jedi, and from what we have been shown a pretty dang good one. Ki-Adi-Mundi involvement felt like a cameo and didn’t ruin anything in Episode 1. He is there, knows jedi are dying, and knows they need to keep things internal as they suspect a Jedi has gone rouge and nothing is mentioned of a sith. And as far as he is ever made aware that is exactly what happened. Sol messed up and didn’t want anyone to know, case closed. The way it ends it leaves me thinking that Qimir is the Acolyte not Mae or Osha with the dark Plagueis cameo at the end which fits the rest of star wars very well. Darth Maul felt cast off so he gets his own apprentice and desires to become a rival to Sidus. Count Dooku has Ventress and to test his loyalty is asked to kill her as she is growing to powerful. Darth Vader wanted Luke to be able to over throw the emperor. We also know in Legends that Plagueis’s master had multiple apprentices that he would have fight each other this could be the same. Loved how Mae’s mind wipe was done! Made total sense for the story and has me hoping for a sequel where I will once again just watch your edit of instead of the whole series. Music felt spot on and at no point did it not feel that it was cut together. Final Thoughts: As one who grew up with the prequel movies this movie felt like it very much could be the same world and, in this case, universe as those movies. Very well done!

Review:
A Masterful Transformation of a Divisive Series Mathismando has delivered an impressive fan edit of "The Acolyte," transforming a series that many Star Wars fans found underwhelming into a far more enjoyable film. His choice to make Sol the main character is both creative and effective. The actor who portrays Sol was one of the few standout performances in the original series, making this decision particularly smart. Technically, the edit is flawless—every cut is clean and seamless. The only small critique I have is that, for my personal taste, I would have preferred a bit more trimming. This is largely because I found the original series poorly written and lacking in logic. However, I understand his reasoning: by not cutting the flashback episodes, Sol remains the central focus of the edit. In terms of enjoyment, I would rate this fan edit a 6 out of 10, but this is purely a reflection of my preferences and the original series' structure. In every other aspect, Mathismando scores very high. Fans of the original series will find even more to appreciate in this fan edit. Mathismando has done an exceptional job with this project.

Review:
Star Wars - A Sol Story A much more comprehensive way to watch the Acolyte. I always liked the (now) legend High Republic era and I felt excited about a new era to be explored. I didn`t like how it was structured in the series and it never felt really coherent as well as focused. In this edit these points were all addressed. The chronological structure works much better in my opinion. Since we are following Sol the story works so much better and the motivations are much more believable. The movie feels short in that the pacing is excellent and the filler much reduced. I would be happy to have watched this version in the cinema instead of what we got! I will follow your Star Wars Work with great interest!

Smart, smooth and fast Corcoran did a spectacular job of rescuing the best of the visual elements of an extremely uneven show. He focused on conveying a visually entertaining experience without sacrificing pacing and created a very enjoyable narrative. Definitely recommended

Review:
“Possible bad English disclaimer down below :)” I watched the original series on Disney and all available fanedits (available until 17th august, 2024). This edit makes the series feel better in every possible way. If you are an English speaker, you definitely want to watch this edit. Pros: - proffesional editing skills (no visible audio or video cuts) - professional understanding of “story writing” and overall story flow - the majority of cringe dialogues and unlogical character decisions are gone (or just feel better thanks to edit) - much more cohesive story, nothing important miss, but the majority of fluff is cut out Cons - lenght, IMHO some scenes or dialogues could be cut out without impact on story or characters (scenes from the flashbacks especially) - only available in 1080p - no subtitles Comparison to other fanedits: You have to realise, that this edit is focused on the character of the new protagonist in SW universe - Sol. His story is edited in the chronological order with some well placed flashbacks. The feeling of the mysterious detective investigation is gone because of this approach. As an editor you have to choose just one approach to editing, so this is not a con, it is the thing you have to consider first if you are looking for Acolyte edit. If you rather want to watch an edit more focused on the investigation, try the Fallen Order edit (edit with other pros and cons - IMHO worse story flow and storywriting decisions, but still worth of your time) In conclusion this is the best Acolyte edit available now. If you are a fan of SW Legends give it a try - it is a way better than original show

Review:
V1.4 version review I recently had the chance to watch your Acolyte fan edit, and I have to say, it was a very enjoyable experience! The narrative you've created by incorporating the flashback episodes is compelling, and the pacing felt spot-on throughout most of the edit. You clearly put a lot of thought into the flow of the story, and it shows. While I loved many of your choices, there were a few areas where I think the edit could be even stronger. Some of the audio transitions felt a bit jarring, and a few of the visual cuts were a little abrupt. That said, there were also some fantastic audio and editing decisions that balanced things out nicely. One small issue I encountered was near the end—around 9 minutes before the conclusion, the video seemed to freeze, which left the ending feeling incomplete. I'm curious if you're planning a part two to follow up on this edit, or if this was an unintentional glitch? All in all, you've done a great job promoting this edit, and I had a great time watching it. Keep up the amazing work, and I look forward to seeing what you do next! Great job, Dude!

Review:
Pari tenu !
